So I was editing the photos from the lingerie shoot last Monday (yes, I shot lingerie…more on this later) and my trusty Wacom Graphire tablet turned off on its own. I thought the battery ran out of charge (I have the Bluetooth version) so I plugged it in. Nope. Did not work. It didn’t work at all.

Now what

Had this happened back in the day of my in-house photographer days I’d just go, “Seon-saeng-nim my tablet is dead!” He’d go, “Go to Fry’s and buy. Sue (bookkeeper) reimburse.” I would have gone to an electronics store later that day, purchased one, hand the receipt over the next day and get $$$ back before 5pm.

But alas! One must pay for every single equipment expense outside the employee arena. Though such purchases can be written off, there is still that initial gut wrenching feeling of spending a considerable amount of cash.

But hey. I gotta finish retouching the pics to collect payment and I can’t retouch for the life of me without a tablet.
